Did you ever feel like no one really knows who you are or what you’re about or why you’re here… not even you? Has the thought ever crossed your mind that, if anything ever happened to you, no one would even notice? Do you get out of bed in the morning wondering why you are on this planet?
Well, you are not alone! Many of the people that we bump into on the subway or on the street, who wait in line with us at the bank or at the grocery store, who work with us in our office, who reside next to us in our apartment or suburban dream home, have those same thoughts. Life is hard, at times, and each of us has our share of grey days, but there is One who knows our every thought, our every problem, our every concern and wants to help with everything. He is the One who created us and who keeps our hearts and minds and lungs and muscles functioning without our giving them any consideration. He’s the One who knows the number of hairs on our head * and who is aware of our destiny. He is the One who is aware of that lost love or that newly diagnosed medical problem or that foreclosure or how the next bill will be paid or the daily pain of loneliness and despair.
As Creator, He knows how He made us and for what purpose. As Sustainer, He is aware of our joy and our sadness. As the great Lover of our souls, He knows the answer to every possible problem and He wants to help. Psalm 139:1 says, “O Lord, You have searched me and known me…. ” There is nothing that escapes Him!
The decision about the outcome of our situation and, ultimately, our life, is up to us, however. Our Creator wants to help us. Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart…. ” If our heart is broken, no matter the reason, God is near! All that’s necessary is our decision to call on Him and ask for His help. You can trust Him… He will never miss that call! Remember, He not only wants to help, He wants each of us to know how much He loves us and He wants our love and thanks in return.
Proverbs 3:5 reminds us to, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” SO, stop feeling alone when you get out of bed in the morning! Start by asking God for help with your day and place every situation in His capable hands. You will never regret it!
