Don’t waste ’em…

Time. It’s a measure of life that we’ve been given, and it is all too fragile. We make choices every day regarding time…when do we awaken or go to sleep, how long do we spend on a project or hobby? Sometimes our time is not really our own and we have to abide by another’s rules and regulations: family, employer, or entertainment. We make decisions based on average times…drive-time to and from work, school or the grocery store; how long it takes to prepare for our day; how much time does it take to stop for coffee or walk the dog? But how often do we think that we have all the time in the world?

Every day people disappear out of our lives. These people are here one minute and gone the next. Some are public figures, some acquaintances, some friends or family. The time and attention we give to them is important, depending upon their position in our lives. So, what does that relationship mean to us? How much time do you we give that person, and why? How close are we? How close do we want them to be?

Is there someone in your life that needs an “I love you?” Is there someone that needs to know you miss them? Is there someone that needs to know you appreciate them? Don’t waste another minute thinking, “I should call….” Time is God-given, precious and never guaranteed. So, as you walk through your day, remember that every minute counts. Don’t waste ’em!

Whose Side are You On?

This is a tough post for me. I have prayed about it and grieved over it. There is an ache in my heart, and it is for the Body of Christ. I feel this ache in my very bones… Many of you, even those that I love dearly, may not agree with what I am about to share, but I plead with you to hear me out.

There is an oppression I am feeling in this month of October. I hear the echo of a time long ago; Continue reading

I’m in the process of writing a book. In it I deal with pieces of my past. It isn’t always easy to watch loved ones make decisions that you know will cost them…. decisions that may forever change their lives.

I’ve watched as opportunities were Continue reading

We all fail the people we love… the people who love us. What we do with that failure will make all the difference. Today, I’ve chosen to give it all to God! He knows my weaknesses and my flaws. He didn’t make me that way, Continue reading

Isaiah 12…

Feeling like God isn’t listening? Like Isaiah, we may feel God is ignoring us or is angry with us, but when we look past our feelings, we see His heart, full of love for each of us… always ready to save, to hear, to heal and forgive. Consider Isaiah’s words…

Stuff Happens…

Many of you may have strong feelings regarding my last post, but I want you to know that no matter what happens to any of us in this life, GOD CARES…. AND HE doesn’t BRING the stuff!!!

God loves us. He loves the WORLD. He loves us in the middle of the mess and the stuff. He loved us before we were born and sent His Son to set us free from all that would desire to hold us back or take us out! We just need to let Him help! He has all the answers. He knows the best way. We need to surrender our own plan and learn to follow His.

We can read it; it’s mapped out in His Word. We can listen for it as we talk to Him and expect Him to respond. We can be assured of His love, since He sent His Son to the WORLD… for US. Jesus never needed to be saved from anything. He surrendered Himself willingly so that we could be set free from the sin that separated us from God, the Father…

None of us will ever be good enough, so don’t try. Just trust in the only One who WAS and IS good enough… Jesus! And know that God loves us! He loved us enough to offer His only Son as our REDEEMER. Jesus paid for everything!

There’s nothing left to do, but trust Him with all the rest…!

He is the only TRUE Source of all that we will ever need!

What is There to Fear…?

…if My God supplies all my needs according to HIS riches in Glory? That same Good Shepherd tells me, as His sheep, that I won’t have reason  to want anything because he makes me rest in lush green pastures where I can feast whenever I want. Now, how great is that?

The God I love promises to take care of me… even when I walk through the valley of the SHADOW of death. Not sure anyone has ever died from a SHADOW! Fear may take you out, but not the shadow!

So, do we believe that what God says is TRUE… or do we doubt His Word and call Him a liar? Not sure any of us want to be accused of that, but we often do it without realizing it. Sometimes, what we cannot explain in the natural, takes on a life of its own and we ignore God’s Word and accuse Him of bringing the mess to test our faith! UGH!

Look at the Garden of Eden? Anything “yucky” there before a certain serpent had a conversation with Eve? NO! The YUCK comes from the serpent and all that he represents! He likes nothing better than to have us blame God for the sickness, poverty and lack in our lives.

God’s Word talks about the coming Messiah in Isa_53:5,and says, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we ARE healed.” Healed in the Hebrew means to cure, (cause to) heal, physician, repair, cure thoroughly, make whole.

With the lashes that Jesus took before His crucifixion, we ARE set free of sin and all that it carries with it, but are we willing to believe the Word of God, or do we instead believe the word of the banker or the “label” from the doctor? Fact may say that we’re ready to lose our home or we’ve contracted something, but I choose not to make a banker or a doctor my god.

God says I’m to have no other gods before Him, so His Word always supercedes the word of anyone else. AND, according to Ephesians 1, if we are part of the Body of Christ, He is the Head, we are the Body and all things are under His feet. Are the feet part of the Body? YES! THEN EVERYTHING IS UNDER OUR FEET AS WELL!!! GOD gave us that position!

The entire passage is a prayer from Paul to the church at Ephesus… and to us as well! It reads,
“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” (KJV)

My prayer is this prayer for each of us! May we grasp the WHOLE truth… that God is a loving and GOOD God ALL the time and that His enemy, the father of lies, (John 8:44) wants us to believe otherwise. There is NOTHING to fear when we allow God to be our GOOD Shepherd. He truly loves each of His sheep!

May the Holy Spirit truly lead us to see and experience the whole Truth, through Jesus, who is “…the way, the truth and the life…!”(John 14:6)

“Thy Kingdom Come…”

A familiar verse to many, this part of the Lord’s Prayer has a deep meaning for me. Years ago I was reading this passage in my King James version of the Bible, and I noticed something I’d never noticed before. I’d spent my life quoting this prayer and had always said, “… Thy Kingdom come, ON earth as it is in Heaven.” But this version said IN earth as it is in Heaven.

Immediately, I was able to see that God wants His Kingdom ON the EARTH, yes… but He is also concerned with having His kingdom residing IN each of us! Adam was created from the dust of the earth. Scientists have found that we are all about 86% water and the rest will eventually return to some pretty basic components. We are that “earth” that God wants His Kingdom to reside in!

Whether you look at the KJV version of Matt 6:10 or Luke 11:2, the word used in the Hebrew is “IN,” not “ON.” The translation has both meanings, but I believe that we miss a LOT of what God intends if we think that the corporate EARTH is to be the only place His Kingdom is to reside.

So look inside. Is God able to establish His Kingdom in you? Are you willing to be part of all that God is doing in YOUR earth? As we each submit our “earth” to Him, the Kingdom of God will emerge as God intended!
